Abstract The invention provides a capsicum lodging-resistant gene, a specific sequence thereof and an application of an encoded protein of the capsicum lodging-resistant gene in enhancing the lodging-resistant performance of capsicum, chemical mutagenesis is carried out on wild capsicum 6421 to discover a stalk creeping mutant sp1, a gene with remarkable differential expression is obtained after analysis, the gene is named as CaMYB61, and the specific sequence of the capsicum lodging-resistant gene is named as CaMYB61. The invention also provides a nucleotide sequence and an amino acid sequence of the gene.
