The present invention provides isolated glucose modulating compounds having both insulinotropic activity and hypoglycemic activity. The compound is a glucose regulating peptide which is derived from a transmembrane module 1 (CYSTM1) rich in cysteine. Also provided are compositions comprising the compounds and their use in the treatment of a disease associated with insulin deficiency or a disease associated with glucose uptake disorder irrelevant to insulin secretion of pancreatic cells in a subject, such as hyperglycemia, type 1 diabetes mellitus, type 2 diabetes mellitus. 本发明提供了具有促胰岛素释放活性和降血糖活性二者的分离的葡萄糖调节化合物。该化合物是一种葡萄糖调节肽，衍生自含有富含半胱氨酸的跨膜模块1(CYSTM1)。还提供了包含该化合物的组合物及其用于治疗受试者中与胰岛素缺乏相关的疾病或与胰腺细胞的胰岛素分泌无关的葡萄糖摄取障碍相关的疾病，例如高血糖症、1型糖尿病、2型糖尿病。
