Summary: | The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for determining cyclic perturbations in an industrial control system. The motor driver monitors operation of the motor and adaptively tracks disturbances experienced by the motor. A motor driver receives a command signal and a cyclic position signal. The estimated perturbations observed throughout the operating cycle are stored in a lookup table, and the motor drive uses the stored values as feed-forward values into the control module. The motor drive adaptively monitors the operation of the motor and generates a new estimated disturbance value in each subsequent operation cycle. The estimated perturbation value is updated within the lookup table as a function of the new estimated perturbation value and a previously stored value. The stored perturbation values adaptively track cyclic perturbations in the controlled machine or process and reduce the impact of these cyclic perturbations on tracking errors in the controlled machine or process.
