Summary:A skeletal isomerization process for isomerizing olefins is described. The process comprises the steps of supplying an olefin-containing feed to the reactor at a first temperature for a first period of time at an airspeed of 1 to 100 hr-1, followed by interrupting or terminating the olefin-containing feed for a second period of time while maintaining the reactor at a second temperature, and then resuming flow of the olefin-containing feed for a third period of time. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the yield of a skeleton isomer product is improved while the generation amount of C5 + heavy olefin is reduced.
