Summary: | The invention belongs to the field of molecular breeding, and relates to cultivation of a new drought-resistant variety of corn, in particular to a protein phosphatase gene related to drought and rehydration and an application of the protein phosphatase gene. The PP2C protein phosphatase gene ZmPP2C15 with large expression quantity difference under drought stress and rehydration conditions is screened through transcriptome data, and experiments prove that when corn encounters drought, high temperature and salt stress in the growth and development process, the gene can actively respond to relieve damage to the corn. The gene PP2C protein phosphatase responding to drought and rehydration treatment is screened through bioinformatics and transcriptome data analysis, and the key gene ZmPP2C15 responding to drought stress and rehydration is obtained through node graph analysis. The overexpression of the ZmPP2C15 gene improves the tolerance of arabidopsis thaliana plants to drought and high temperature.
