The invention relates to a method for producing a composite article comprising a structured porous body (PB) and a particulate foam (PF), in which the provided structured porous body (PB) is inserted into a mould (M) and the mould (M) is filled with expanded foam beads (EFB) such that the expanded foam beads (EFB) are in contact with one another and the structured porous body (PB) is at least partially in contact with the expanded foam beads (EFB). The expanded foam beads (EFB) are then thermally fused in which the particulate foam (PF) is built and the composite article is obtained. Furthermore, the invention relates to a composite article obtained by this method and to a composite article comprising a structured porous body (PB) and a particulate foam (PF). The invention further relates to the use of the composite article according to the invention in the footwear industry, in the sports and leisure field, in vehicle construction, in the medical field, in the mechanical engineering and in the logistics fiel
