There is provided a safety system for a heat pump system, the safety system comprising: a plurality of valve units each having a refrigerant piping section with a control valve; a refrigerant leak detector; and a housing (400e) accommodating the valve and the refrigerant leak detector and having a first opening (420) and a second opening (430) formed therein. The safety system further includes a connection structure connecting the inner space of the housing via the first opening and the second opening, and a discharge structure connected to one of the housing or the connection structure and configured to discharge air from the inner space of the housing where leakage of refrigerant has occurred.
