The invention relates to the field of audio and video device detection, in particular to an audio and video interface detection method and device. The method mainly comprises the following steps: generating source data in an audio and/or video format according to a source variable, and inputting the source data into a to-be-tested audio and video interface; the audio and video interface is configured according to the output variables, configuration parameters of output data of the audio and video interface are controlled, and the output variables do not contain parameters corresponding to the source variables; and obtaining output data of a corresponding format output by the audio and video interface based on the source data, analyzing the output data into time sequence data, and judging the function state of the audio and video interface according to the time sequence data. According to the invention, the fault reason of the audio and video interface can be positioned according to the output results of diffe
