An automatic instrument reading system includes an image capturing device for capturing a captured image including a numerical value of an instrument; the detection device is used for processing the captured image so as to detect a composition number frame of instrument values and a corresponding probability value; the classification assigning device assigns a classification mark to each number box and the corresponding probability value, and the classification mark comprises the position representing the boundary of the upper number and the lower number; and a post-processing device for sequentially determining the numbers of the instrument values from right to left according to the classification marks of each number box.
