Summary:A computer-implemented method, system, and computer program product for authenticating an Internet of Things (IoT) device with multi-factor authentication. Identity credentials of a neighboring IoT device are obtained by the IoT device to be authenticated. After providing a request to the authentication system to attestation its identity, the IoT device provides first factor credentials, such as a username and password, to the authentication system. The authentication system challenges the IoT device to provide the second factor credential upon confirming the accuracy of the first factor credential. Upon receiving a challenge from the authentication system to provide the second factor credentials, the IoT device returns the second factor credentials generated based on the identity credentials obtained from the neighboring IoT device. Upon determining that the received second factor credentials include identity credentials from a minimum number of desired neighboring IoT devices, the authentication system appr
