Summary: | A reactor (100) for electrochemical synthesis is proposed. The reactor (100) includes a vessel (102) configured to receive a reaction mixture comprising an electrolytic medium and at least one reactant, at least one first electrode (108) and at least one second electrode (110). A first electrode (108) and a second electrode (110) are disposed within the container (102) and interpenetrate one another without electrical contact. The first electrode (108) and/or the second electrode (110) are/is in the form of a three-dimensional mesh, the first electrode (108) and the second electrode (110) being arranged to allow and/or purposefully direct the reaction mixture to flow therebetween. In addition, a method of performing electrochemical synthesis is proposed.
