Summary:Described herein are methods and compositions for identifying, selecting, or culturing cells comprising a nucleic acid sequence of a subject of interest. In general, a nucleic acid comprising a sequence encoding an enzyme molecule involving amino acid biosynthesis and a subject nucleic acid is introduced into a cell. The cells are then grown on a culture medium lacking amino acids, thereby enabling the growth of the cells comprising the introduced nucleic acids.
