Summary:Aspects relate to sounding on a subset of available sounding resources. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) on a subset of frequency resources available for hopping of a sounding reference signal (SRS) hopping sequence. The UE may be configured to use a subset of frequency resources, or the UE may autonomously identify the subset. The base station may send a bitmap to the UE to indicate a subset of resources to be used for hopping. Each bit of the bitmap may indicate that the UE is to transmit the SRS on a particular RB or on a particular group of RBs. The same subset of resources may be specified for each hop, or different subsets of resources may be specified for different hops. An indication of a subset of resources may be provided for each hop.
