A plurality of multi-subunit protein components are provided. Accordingly, a multi-subunit protein component is provided. The multi-subunit protein component comprises at least three cell membrane polypeptides, each of the at least three cell membrane polypeptides comprises an amino acid sequence of an Fc receptor universal gamma chain (FcRgamma), and the amino acid sequence is capable of transmitting an activation signal; wherein at least one, but not all, of the at least three polypeptides comprises an extracellular binding domain capable of binding to a target present on a cell surface of a target cell of an immune cell such that when the extracellular binding domain is bound to the target, the target cell is not bound to the extracellular binding domain. The activation signal is delivered in an immune cell that expresses the multi-subunit protein component.
