The invention provides an N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) adsorbent and a preparation method thereof. The NMP adsorbent comprises zeolite with a silica-alumina ratio of 3-45 and metal ions loaded on the zeolite, the loading capacity of the metal ions is 0.5 wt% to 16 wt%. The NMP adsorbent is high in adsorption efficiency and good in adsorption effect on NMP, and the desorption temperature of the NMP is reduced, so that the influence of a high boiling point on the desorption performance is reduced, the cyclic application of the adsorbent is facilitated, and the industrial cost is reduced. 本发明提供了一种N-甲基吡咯烷酮(NMP)吸附剂及其制备方法，所述NMP吸附剂包括：硅铝比为3-45的沸石，以及负载在所述沸石上的金属离子构成；所述金属离子的负载量为0.5wt％～16wt％。本发明的NMP吸附剂对NMP的吸附效率高，吸附效果好，且降低了NMP的脱附温度，从而降低了高沸点对脱附性能的影响，有利于吸附剂的循环应用，降低了工业成本。
