Summary:An apparatus (100) for determining road friction characteristics of a commercial vehicle (10) is disclosed. The commercial vehicle (10) comprises a first axle (11), a second axle (12), a load distribution mechanism (14) for changing a load (Fn) on the second axle (12) or the first axle (11), and a slip sensor (16) for determining a slip value of at least one wheel (17, 18) on the first axle (11) or the second axle (12).
