Summary: | Provided are: an anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet which contains Ce and has a compound of an Nd2Fe14B-type crystal as a main phase, and which exhibits good magnetic characteristics; and a method for producing the anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet. The anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet according to the present invention has a composition represented by formula Rx (Fe1-aCoa) 100-x-y-zByMz (wherein R represents two or more elements selected from the group consisting of rare earth elements and must contain Nd and Ce), and is characterized in that the main phase is composed of a compound of an Nd2Fe14B-type crystal, and the main phase is composed of a compound of an Nd2Fe14B-type crystal.
