The method comprises the following steps: acquiring an M-mode diaphragm ultrasonic image which is not less than one complete respiratory cycle in an M mode; performing diaphragm positioning on the M-mode diaphragm ultrasound image through a first convolutional neural network model to obtain a local diaphragm region image; segmenting the local diaphragm region image through a second convolutional neural network model to obtain a diaphragm mask; and calculating the positions of the end-expiration and the end-inspiration according to the diaphragm mask, and calculating the diaphragm thicknesses of the end-expiration and the end-inspiration according to the positions of the end-expiration and the end-inspiration.
