A method for manufacturing a power element including an upper cover member, a receiving member, and a diaphragm sandwiched between the upper cover member and the receiving member includes: a step of filling a working gas between the upper cover member and the diaphragm through a hole or a slit formed in the upper cover member; and a step for heating and melting a blank constituting the upper cover member in the vicinity of the hole or the slit, and filling the hole or the slit with the melted blank.
