Summary:The invention relates to a control device for controlling a measuring system for measuring the blood pressure of a subject and optionally hemodynamic parameters. In a first measurement time period T1, a characteristic characterizing the respective pressure pulse is determined for the measured pressure pulse. Based on the feature, a starting value is determined, and a starting curve, TPWF-curve, is formed based on the starting value. The measuring system is controlled in such a way that, after the starting curve has reached the first maximum value, a second measuring time period occurs subsequently, in which the blood pressure value is determined on the basis of the pressure measured in the second measuring time period.
