The invention relates to a fuel cell arrangement having a fuel cell that discharges water as a cold combustion product during operation; a supply gas path leading to the fuel cell for a cathode supply gas flow defining a supply gas flow direction, the cathode supply gas flow from an aqueous supply gas supplied to the fuel cell; and an exhaust gas path remote from the fuel cell for an exhaust gas flow defining an exhaust gas flow direction, the cathode exhaust gas flow from the aqueous exhaust gas flowing out of the fuel cell. The supply gas path and the exhaust gas path are directed through a humidifier of the fuel cell device in fluid communication with the supply gas and the exhaust gas to humidify the supply gas and dehumidify the exhaust gas.
