Summary:An in-ear headphone device for insertion into an ear canal of a person is disclosed. The in-ear headphone device comprises a noise microphone, a speaker and a signal processor arranged to provide an active noise control signal based on a recorded audio signal from the noise microphone, where the speaker is arranged to reproduce the active noise control signal in the ear canal. Further, the device comprises a dampening vent comprising one or more vent elements and one or more dampening elements, the dampening vent being arranged to couple the ear canal to an external acoustic environment. The dampening vent is characterized by an inward ventilation transfer function HVI from the external acoustic environment to the ear canal. The damping vent is arranged to suppress acoustic resonance of the one or more vent elements such that a common amplitude value of the inward ventilation transfer function HVI of the damping vent in a resonant frequency range from 100 Hz to 2 kHz is at most 3 dB greater than a reference a
