Summary: | The invention discloses an electronic controller for a restraint control system of a vehicle. The electronic controller includes an electronic control unit having a first serial interface. The electronic controller also includes a communication controller including a second serial interface and a plurality of PSI5 (Peripheral Sensor Interface 5) digital communication interfaces. Each of the first serial interface and the second serial interface is a serial peripheral interface (SPI) in direct communication with each other, and the digital communication interfaces are each configured to communicate with a remote sensor. The communication controller is configured to transmit a voltage synchronization pulse to each of the remote sensors via the PSI5 digital communication interface in response to a synchronization command received from the electronic control unit via the serial interconnect.
