Summary: | The invention discloses a preparation method and application of a catalyst for synthesizing m-dimethoxybenzene by taking resorcinol and dimethyl carbonate as raw materials. The catalyst comprises a main component and an antioxidant, wherein the antioxidant accounts for 5-15% of the mass of the main component; the main components comprise, by mass, 50-85% of an active component and 15-50% of an auxiliary agent. The active component, the assistant and the antioxidant are used as raw materials, the composite catalyst is simple in preparation process, low in cost, easy to separate from the product, high in catalytic activity and high in product yield, can be used for catalyzing the reaction of resorcinol and dimethyl carbonate to generate m-xylylene dimethyl ether, and is green, efficient and pollution-free in process and suitable for industrial production. The industrial application is successfully realized.
