A tendon/ligament repair implant for treating tears or injuries of tendons and ligaments is provided that includes a composition for joint capsule reconstruction and delivery of calcium and/or phosphate ions in combination with a collagen solution that can be placed between soft tissue and bone to promote healing of the soft tissue-bone interface. Implants may be incorporated into quickly deployed and fixed features by an arthroscopic approach that is complementary to the current procedure; the present invention relates to a method for repairing native tissue, comprising the steps of: providing a tensile property that preferably shares an anatomical load between an implant and a native tendon during rehabilitation, or providing a porosity for selection in place of native tissue and a longitudinal path for tissue ingrowth, in the event that native tissue cannot be repaired, or providing a tensile property that preferably shares the anatomical load between the implant and the native tendon during rehabilitation
