Summary:Techniques are described that can address the problem of low power when operating a device on a battery and alternatively on the output of a switched-mode regulator. In a low power mode, the voltage regulator circuit may be powered off, and the switch may connect an input voltage of the regulator (e.g., a battery) to the CPU. In addition, internal and/or external loads (e.g., voltage feedback resistors) may be switched off to further reduce power consumption. If the device begins to operate, the CPU may be switched off from an input voltage of the regulator (e.g., the battery), and switched to an output of the regulator. In this way, it can be ensured that the circuit consumes little power in the standby mode.
