Summary: | Job scheduling for a manufacturing or logistics process is provided. The invention relates to a computer-implemented method (900) for scheduling jobs of a manufacturing or logistics process using a priority function. A priority function is evaluated for the plurality of jobs to be scheduled to obtain a plurality of corresponding priority values. A priority function is defined to call a kernel function. A kernel function is defined to compare representations of two respective jobs. Evaluating the priority function for the selected job includes evaluating a kernel function for a representation of the selected job and one or more reference jobs. A schedule of the plurality of jobs is determined based on the priority values, and then output to enable the plurality of jobs to be performed according to the schedule.
