The invention discloses a hydraulic loading single-ball-head type rolling contact fatigue testing machine and a method thereof, and belongs to the field of material rolling contact fatigue performance testing. The device mainly comprises a motor, a main shaft module, a loading module, a lubricating module and a hydraulic oil cylinder module, the bottom of a one-way thrust bearing of the main shaft module is attached to and connected with the upper end surface of the sample for supporting the sample; the first angular contact bearing and the second angular contact bearing are used for preventing the spindle from shaking; the loading module comprises a movable cross beam and a ball head in rolling contact with the lower end surface of the sample; the movable cross beam is connected with a hydraulic oil cylinder module capable of providing lifting force in the vertical direction. According to the invention, loading force is applied to the ball head through the hydraulic oil cylinder, constant load output by hydr
