Summary:A method of machining a workpiece (42) is described, the workpiece (42) being clamped in a stationary element and machined by a tool (72) movably mounted on a CNC machine tool (50). The fixing element is integrally constrained to the frame of the CNC machine tool and then optically scans the geometry present in a portion of the workpiece (42).
