Summary: | Disclosed are a carbon-based support capable of improving catalytic activity as much as that of a porous support while having excellent durability characteristic to a solid-type support, a catalyst including the carbon-based support, a membrane-electrode assembly including the carbon-based support, and a method for manufacturing the carbon-based support. The carbon-based support for a fuel cell catalyst of the present invention is a solid-type support, and has an outer surface area of 100 to 450 m2/g, a mesopore volume of 0.25 to 0.65 cm3/g, and a micropore volume of 0.01 to 0.05 cm3/g.
