Summary:Provided is a ceramic electronic component having a fired electrode layer that has good plating properties and is capable of suppressing plating from intruding into an element main body. The ceramic electronic component includes: an element main body in which a ceramic layer and an internal electrode layer are laminated; and an external electrode which is formed on the end surface of the element main body and is electrically connected to at least one end of the internal electrode layer. The fired electrode layer has a first region that is in contact with the end surface of the element main body and is located in the vicinity of the bonding boundary with the element main body, and a second region that is located outside the first region and constitutes the outer surface of the fired electrode layer, and the first region contains a first glass having a predetermined composition.
