Summary: | Aspects described herein relate to polling timer enhancements in fifth generation new radio (5G NR). In one aspect, aspects may include determining whether a non-polled PDU count associated with a sequence of current packet data units (PDUs) satisfies a threshold for a non-polled maximum PDU; determining whether the total transmit queue memory exceeds an uplink transmit queue memory threshold; generating a polling bit based on determining that a non-polled PDU count associated with the non-polled sequential current PDU satisfies a threshold of a non-polled maximum PDU and a total transmit queue memory exceeds an uplink transmit queue memory threshold; and transmitting the current PDU with the polling bit to a network entity.
