Summary: | The invention relates to a debottleneck solution for a delayed coking unit. More specifically, the present invention relates to the bottoms of vacuum resid delivered through a deasphalting unit to a coker to avoid retrofitting existing cokers for processing heavier feedstocks when there is a change in crude oil slate. Another object of the invention specifically relates to an improved delayed coking product, a process for cracking petroleum residue in a petroleum refinery to convert it into gaseous and liquid product streams and leave solid carbonaceous petroleum coke.
