The invention discloses a workshop material identification tracking and positioning method and system. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring each monitoring real-time video stream of a workshop; performing material detection based on the real-time frame of each monitoring real-time video stream to obtain material information of the corresponding material; multi-target tracking is carried out according to the material information of the corresponding materials, and a unique ID is marked for each tracked material; calculating the space coordinate position of each target material in the world coordinate system; if the same material at the same position is detected by the plurality of monitors, identifying the same material as the same ID; if the material is switched between two adjacent monitoring detections, whether the material in the current monitoring and the material in the previous monitoring are the same material is judged under the condition that the switching time threshold is not exceeded
