The method comprises the following steps: acquiring detection data of different speed grades of a detection train detected by a rail detection system; according to the power spectrum density data in the detection data, judging whether the train has a wheel polygon or not; when the judgment result is that the wheel polygon exists, the detection data deviation values of different speed grades are calculated; and according to the detection data deviation values of different speed grades, the polygon order of the wheel is judged.
