The invention discloses dispersion resin for a cathode electrophoretic coating matched with film pretreatment, which is characterized in that the dispersion resin is sulfonium salt type dispersion resin as shown in the following structural formula 1. The invention also discloses a preparation method and application of the compound. The dispersion resin prepared by the invention has better wetting and leveling properties, and the roughness of a paint film is reduced; meanwhile, the dispersion resin has better electric field shielding property, a comb claw structure on a side chain has stronger binding force with pigments and fillers, and less organic solvent is used, so that the electrophoretic paint has better throwing power; in addition, a sulfonium bond on a side chain of the dispersion resin has relatively strong binding force with a metal substrate, so that the anti-corrosion capability of a coating is improved. In the matched field of film pretreatment, the dispersion resin has a plurality of advantages
