Summary:The invention relates to hot dilution injection measurement and control. Devices and methods for measuring, controlling (or both) hot dilution injection flow for calculating a pulmonary hot dilution parameter. An injection delivery system includes an injector for containing an injection and a delivery tube configured at one end to connect to a catheter. A flow measurement device is inserted into the delivery tube to generate a signal for determining the flow rate of fluid from the syringe to the catheter. A processor receives a signal from the flow measurement device and calculates an injection volume to be used as an input for calculating a transpulmonary thermal dilution parameter, such as cardiac output. A GUI is provided to guide the user as to whether the injection speed is too fast or too slow.
