The invention provides a dispensing assembly for a laundry appliance. The dispensing assembly includes a housing defining a cartridge port. A dispensing device is coupled with the housing and extends into the cartridge port. The dispensing cartridge is selectively received by the cartridge port. The dispensing cartridge is selectively engaged with the dispensing device in a mounted position within the cartridge port. The dispensing cartridge includes a nesting portion configured to contain a first laundry chemical. The insert portion is configured to contain a second laundry chemical.
