Summary: | The present invention enables a battery to function efficiently. A vehicle travel system (10) is provided with: a travel motor generator (13) connected to a first battery (11) and a second battery (12) via relays; a power receiving unit (14) connected to the first battery (11) and the second battery (12) via a relay, and connected to an external power source (30); and a control device (15). The control device (15) is configured so as to charge the first battery (11) when the state of charge of the first battery (11) is lower than a predetermined SOC and so as to charge the second battery (12) when the state of charge of the first battery (11) is equal to or greater than the predetermined SOC when the power receiving unit (14) has been connected to the external power source (30).
