PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone number registering method hardly causing an error by enabling an opposite party to input an opposite telephone number without making any memorandum of the telephone number by providing a means for registering a telephone number to be stored during speaking in a dedicated memory address. SOLUTION: A central processing part 110 has functions for controlling the total operation of a telephone set, registering and reading out the telephone number inputted during speaking. When registering the telephone number, the central processing part 110 confirms whether it is a speaking state or not, and when it is just under speaking, it is judged whether any number registration setting key is inputted from a key input part 128 or not. When a telephone register mode is not set, a general speech mode is executed. When the telephone registration setting key is inputted and the telephone register mode is set, it is judged whether any telephone number register destination memory address of a memory part 126 is selected or not while forming a speech path. The central processing part 110 judges whether there is the registered telephone number at the selected memory address or not, and when there is any telephone number, it is deleted, but when there is no telephone number, it is displayed on a display part 124 and accepted as a new number.
