Summary:The invention relates to a measuring device for three-dimensional geometric capture of an environment. The present invention relates to a multi-beam distance measurement device configured to time the time of flight of a transmission pulse by using a programmable integrated circuit having a plurality of parallel delay lines. Each of the delay lines has a plurality of delay elements that propagate an input signal of the respective delay line in sequence, where each of the delay elements is configured to provide a binary output in accordance with the input signal. The time measurement of the signal variation of the return signal is performed by sampling the binary outputs of the respective delay lines and simultaneously taking into account the sampled binary outputs at a point in time by further taking into account the individual time delays of the delay elements.
