The invention provides a high-performance mold and a preparation process thereof. The high-performance mold preparation process comprises the following steps: providing a mold intermediate product, and determining a working surface of the mold intermediate product; according to the working face of the mold intermediate product, a cladding path capable of covering the working face is designed; and according to the designed cladding path, a cladding layer is manufactured on the working face through the 3D cladding technology, and the high-performance mold with the cladding layer on the working face is obtained. In the preparation process of the high-performance mold, the mold main body is manufactured by adopting common domestic steel, and the high-wear-resistance and high-heat-resistance cladding layer is manufactured on the mold main body through path planning, so that the purpose of high requirements of mold service on materials under harsh working conditions is achieved.
