Summary:The drum-type washing machine of the present disclosure comprises: a water tank (42) elastically supported in a washing machine housing (41); a rotating drum (43) rotatably provided within the water tank (42); a water supply valve (57) as a water supply device for supplying water into the water tank (42); a motor that rotationally drives the rotary drum (43); and a water discharge path (55) for discharging water in the water tank (42). Furthermore, the drum-type washing machine is provided with: a drainage pump (63) which is provided midway along the drainage path (55) and which sucks and discharges water; a filter that is provided in the drainage path (55) and that captures foreign matter; and a control unit that sequentially controls the steps such as washing, rinsing, and dewatering. Furthermore, during the drainage operation performed by the drainage pump (63), the control device intermittently drives the drainage pump (63). Thus, blocks such as silk scraps captured by the filter are crushed by the water
