A system and method for immersive group lighting interaction is provided. The lighting infrastructure includes a plurality of independently controllable lighting devices. According to an embodiment, a user may be authorized to access to control at least a portion of the lighting infrastructure. Sensors associated with a user's mobile device may track the user rather than requiring the user to manually control the lighting infrastructure using, for example, a touch screen. The sensor data may be classified and then mapped to corresponding control instructions to control the lighting infrastructure. In another embodiment, a computing system receives sensor classifications from a plurality of users.
