The invention relates to a cable joint lead sealing detection device and method. The device comprises a shell, and a first shell part, a second shell part and an insulating flange of the shell; the cable and the armor of the cable penetrate through the shell; the lead sealing layers are arranged at the two ends of the shell; the detection device is arranged in the first shell part and the second shell part, is close to the lead sealing layer, and comprises a magnetic core, and a temperature and humidity sensing unit, a signal sending unit and an electricity taking coil which are integrated on the magnetic core; wherein the cable armor is sleeved with the magnetic core, and the magnetic core is sleeved with the electricity taking ring; the control device comprises an external control unit, a first signal receiving unit and a second signal receiving unit, the first signal receiving unit is used for receiving signals of the temperature and humidity sensing unit, the second signal receiving unit is used for recei
