The invention introduces a heat exchanger comprising a stack of heat transfer plates positioned between two end plates in which recesses formed in an edge region are adapted to receive bolts extending from a first end plate to a second end plate of the two end plates, at least one of the recesses is formed with a locking feature adapted to engage with a locking device comprising an opening, where the locking device is to be positioned on a respective end plate and the opening is aligned with the recess such that a bolt positioned in the recess may also protrude through the opening.
