By utilizing the method disclosed by the invention, a recombinant fungus for independently and excessively expressing a demethylated mercury methylase gene Mmd or a divalent mercury reductase Mir from metarhizium robertianum and a recombinant engineering fungus for simultaneously expressing Mmd and Mir genes can be obtained. Compared with wild fungi, the recombinant fungi and the recombinant engineering fungi have the advantage that the methyl mercury methyl removal and/or divalent mercury reduction capability can be obviously enhanced.
