The invention discloses a centering device for ship infield and outfield welding and a using method thereof. The centering device comprises supports, screws, a base, first angle iron, second angle iron, upper end nuts and lower end nuts; each support is in an L shape and comprises a first supporting plate and a second supporting plate which are perpendicularly connected; the ends of the second supporting plates are welded to the base, through holes are formed in the first supporting plates, the upper end nuts are installed on the upper end surfaces of the first supporting plates, the lower end nuts are installed on the lower end surfaces of the first supporting plates, threaded holes of the upper end nuts and threaded holes of the lower end nuts communicate with the through holes, the screws are in threaded connection with the upper end nuts and the lower end nuts, the first angle iron and the second angle iron are welded to form cross-shaped structures, and at least two supports are arranged on base. The dev
