Summary: | The purpose of the present invention is to provide a supported platinum catalyst, which has a high ratio of diffraction peak intensity of a Pt (220) plane and has excellent oxidation resistance, with a simple production method without using a polymer. This supported platinum catalyst comprises a carbon carrier and platinum particles supported by the carbon carrier, wherein the platinum particles have a ratio of diffraction peak intensity of a (220) plane with respect to the total of the diffraction peak intensities of a (111) plane, a (200) plane, and the (220) plane by X-ray diffraction of 0.128 or more.
