The method disclosed by the invention comprises the following steps: detecting each untagged virus file by utilizing a virus detection tool, and determining a virus family to which each untagged virus file belongs; for each virus family, classifying all virus files included in the current virus family by using a clustering algorithm to obtain a plurality of virus variants corresponding to the current virus family; extracting common virus characteristics of all virus files in each virus variant, and generating a virus identification rule corresponding to each virus variant according to the virus characteristics; and identifying and marking a to-be-identified virus file by utilizing each virus identification rule.
